What film have you seen which you were looking forward to with anticipation as you thought it would be very good only to find out it was pony and trap or just a big let down , at the cinema or on DVD.

Saw Red Eye yesterday and it was decidedly ok, it got 6.6 on imdb which is pretty decent and the latest reviewer gave it 10 , she must have been on drugs. Wes Craven has done some decent work but this was very average.

4.8 out of 10, pretty pointless really with a pointless story and lots of loose ends.

Avoid.

Bad Santa 3.0 out of 10, utter gash.

What others ??? .

Can I add a positive spin on this thread!? It's all doom and indeed gloom these days eh!?

I saw Nine Queens directed by Fabian Bielinsky on DVD this week which I'd previously read about and it was hugely enjoyable.

Sorry to be so happy.....I'll let you get on with it now.....

I saw Red Eye a couple of weeks ago, but had low expectations of it anyway. Looked more like an afternoon matinee TV movie to me. 5.2, and thats only because the ending picked up (slightly).

As far as disappointments go...The Day After Tomorrow. Looked pretty decent from the trailers, but by christ what a steaming pile of TURD that was. Oh, and The Matrix sequals. First film was genius, the other two had a few outstanding set pieces but ultimately disappeared up their own arses.

Magnolia seems to divide I rate it as a top 10 film of all time. Lush thinks it is one of the best films ever, I know a few people who think it is Gash. Strange 8.5 out of 10

How dare you. That film is a Coen Brothers masterpiece.

One of my favourite films.

I don't think it was directed by the Coen Brothers was it?
