I'm looking to buy myself some new earphones for my ipod seeing as the ones that come with it sound like the type that cost 1.99 down the market.

Anyone know of good but reasonably cheap earphones.

I have found two possibles:-

Koss Spark Plugs

Sennheiser MX500

Anyone got any experience of eithe rof these or recommend any others for similar price.

I've got the Sennheiser's. They're good for the price and have that handy little slider on the cord which means you can adjust the volume without having to fumble around for the mp3 player itself.

They are both between 15 and 20 quid. Won't spend mych more than that becasue they are likely to either get pinched or I'll lose them.

I've got some Sony ones - gold plated plug and bass boost feature type thang. Think they cost about £30 but they're not bad.

I use fancy Sony ones, but the quality is little better than a £8.99 set

Gold plating is useless unless the socket is gold plated. Gold makes worse contact with tin than tin does, so you can actually damage both the socket and plug.

No idea what model - sorry!

Got em from HMV I think - the big selling point is the bass boost design which consists of 2 rubber bits that actually go right into your ear. Not as uncomfortable as it sounds.

Agreed, its not uncomfortable. Its also not really worth the extra price though...

Thats why I'm tempted with the Koss ones as they ar ethe rubber int he ear ones and only cost 15 quid. Reckon they could be the winner.
