...and was thinking about taking in a footy match, as you do.

Real Mallorca are playing Sevilla on tne 30/10 so thinking about that. Anyone know what tickets cost, what the area is like, and all that sort of stuff.

Also, I have no idea where anything is in Mallorca. The hotel I am staying at is Sol Magalluf Park *** - Address: Avda. P. Vaquer Ramis, s/n, 07182, Calviá (SPAIN). Any idea if thats anywhere near the ground (or even in the same town / country).

Any advice on where to eat / drink / do the tourist thang also gratefully received.

Cheers

Yeah, I think they are the same, I was just being a wally.

I'm actually a SE Londoner now, moved across the river to Woolwich a year ago, but still feel my London heart is in the east proper. Spent many years in Forest Gate, near Stratford. Orient was only five minutes away and it was only a 20 minute walk down Green St to West Ham, so those were tremendous Albion games for me!.

What's Chingford like? Only ever really nipped in and out in the past.

Forest Gate- my Grandad lived there, Strone Road, just off Green street on the way down to Upton Park.

Quite a rough place, or do you not think so?

I was born in woolwich, lived in plumstead for a few years too, south east london B & B, lovely stuff. anyway, went to majorca a couple of years ago, as I recall the main football ground isn't too far from magaluff where you're staying so should be easily doable and relatively cheap in a taxi. No idea about the cost of tickets though, but can't imagine it'll be sold out. You checked if there's anywhere on the web you can get them?

Just like any other tbh. I got mugged there a couple of years back, but a friend got done in Camden at same time. Just got to try and keep your wits about you.

That's where I am, on the Slade in Plumstead. Lovely having two commons at the bottom of my road :clap2: Whereabouts in Plumstead were you?

Not too bad - not as overrun by chavs as you might think! I live in the North part which is a tad nicer, natch. Not a huge amount of pubs, but MILLIONS of restaurants. Chingford Mount isn't quite as nice, but has more pubs... and is closer to Walthamstow Dogs.

I've only ever been past Woolwich (was stuck queuing for the blackwall tunnel last week)...

Oh, the glorious Blackwall Tunnel

Isn't there a really good Chinese eat-as-much-as-you-like in Chingford, on a small parade of shops on an over-pass? Think I went there for some nosh a while back, was well tasty.

ELS (sorry haven't worked out how to copy and paste) You know the Prince Albert pub on Old Mill Rd (right next to Plumstead Manor) I used to live in the house next to it. Are you up on Timbercroft rd??

Bloody hell, that's one of my locals. I'm in Sutcliffe Road, the other side of the ravine, near the Woodman pub. Small world.

There's a Palace fan who drinks in the Prince Albert, told me he'd shout me a pint if we beat them, so I'll be claiming that prize very soon.

You know that Dave Courtney lives down there? Down Chestnut? Has turned his house into a castle, complete with turrets, murals, the works :shootself
