O/T Film comparisons

My old mukka NMH and I were chewing the fat during the less exciting moments of the Huddersfield game, discussing films.

He tried to compare Goodfellas and Lock Stock, saying that the Ritchie flick was the British equivalent to the Henry Hill story.

IMHO as good as Lock Stock was up against Goodfellas its a bit like comparing The Beatles to the Bay City Rollers.

While I enjoyed Lock Stock, it's not in the same league as Goodfellas.

This all starts with the pre-publicity for a film, they love to say "it's the new (whatever)", or "it's x meets y", it's clearly seen as a way of bringing people in.

You could say our home form this season is 'Police Academy 5' meets 'Highlander 2'.

Goodfellas was far better IMO.

The "Funny Guy" scene is one of hollywoods finest moments.

Nah Harty, you egzagerate innit.
I was saying that Lock Stock was our Goodfellas (in other words Britain's equivalent in stature).
The septics do the mafia/guido films, we do the streetwise yobbo best.

Watched NMH sketch on Youtube very good, has certainly stood the test of time
