I love Morecombe and Wise and enjoyed watching the programme again Xmas day. Tommy Cooper is a close second for me.

Trouble with Benny Hill was he was very good until the dick brain Ben Elton and all the new wave comedians at the time decided that type of humour was over and publicly slated him.

BoB Monkhouse is still alive and kicking or have I missed something!!

AlbionGirl, who should Coppell pick as right-back for the next match - Chris Ramsey or Ian Chapman?

I liked Canadian Bacon. I liked the scene around the CN tower when Candy was pushing all the Canadians to the ground - all the Canadians were saying 'sorry' while falling. John Candy just made me laugh. Often he did not need to say anything - just something about him.

Definitely Bill Hicks (back and to the left) and Peter Sellers, Peter Cook and Graham Chapman, the core of Monty Python.

They are the sort of options my Gran would have put up. Personally, Milligan, Sellers, Cooke Chapman all rate higher.
Bill Hicks seems to have a lot of fans, but I never heard his stuff. Tommy Cooper from your list though.
Albiongirl, I think Bob Monkhouse was eaten by a giant Python.
