congratulations!
we bought a baby monitor (the tomy basic one that just had the lights that went along from green to red depending on how much noise was made) with our first baby who is nearly 14 now. we've had nine children since and not used a monitor again. it's gone in the same place as all those other 'useful' baby gadgets - water thermometer, wipe warmers etc.
