O/T Anyone know how to renew a Brighton library card?

Just wanted to know if anyone has renewed their library card and what it entails?

I've looked on the website and it doesn't say

I've got the old card and will take my D/L as ID, and will pop down to The Jubilee Library in the morning

Proof of address and signature I believe.

Or at least it was when I worked there. I didn't think they expired anyway?

I tried to renew some books online and it came up in a big red message that my card runs out on 01/04/09!

But thinking of the date, perhaps it's an April Fool!?

The new photo ID library cards with an inbedded chip are being issued to conform with a recently introduced EU directive. All existing cards will be rendered obsolete and the new cards will only be accepted from the beginning of April. I pity the poor old librarians who will be snowed under with renewal requests.

I've just phoned the library and they renewed my books for me and asked that the next time I go in, for me to take some form of ID, just so they can update my details
