Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is eschewing glamorous hotspots such as Monaco and Las Vegas in order to spend his holidays walking in the Lake District.
The antics of the controversial Italian striker have seen him hit the headlines throughout his career, with manager Roberto Mancini reportedly throwing a suitcase at him after he was sent off for a rash challenge in a Europa League clash earlier this season.
But it seems he has a gentler side, and he will split his holidays between walking in Cumbria and going on safari in Kenya.
"Mario loves animals and the great outdoors so it will be the perfect summer for him," a friend of the player told The Sun.
"Kenya will be slightly different to Liverpool's Knowsley Safari Park, where he became a regular this year.
"Staff at Manchester City also recommended the Lake District to Mario and he is keen to see what all the fuss is about."
