Playing the amazing Atmosfear with friends last night for a nostalgic trip to the "Other Side", I got to thinking. What are the finest board games from your childhood, or indeed adulthood?

Poll to follow.

I grew up playing Frustration and Asda sell a version called 'hop and pop'. On Xmas Day, this game came out and was great fun. However, after a few drinks it's now been renamed 'plop plop'!

Got to be Risk. When I was in my late teens early twenties we used to get home from the pub / club at about 3 then play risk until the pubs opened again.

Monopoly for me. It provides an education in entrepreneurship without any real-life risk attached.

A very hard choice between Risk, Cluedo and Scrabble...the first two rely on strategy and a little bit of luck...but I would go for the latter, which relys on an almost encylopaedic knowledge of the English language, plus a bit of skill in outscoring your opponent.

Bum. I clicked 'other' like a smart arse. Risk is the greatest game of all time.

Diplomcy is good. But, takes about 20 years just to get started.

I used to love Escape From Colditz and also there was another game my parents had called Moviemaker.

Risk 2210 for me. A brilliant update on the original. Wouldn't bother with Risk Godstorm though. It's smacks of desperation to invent another variant but doesn't do anything to improve on previous versions.

Monopoly for me, although I'm not averse to a bit of Trivial Pursuit.
