Surely this is very easily (although i'm not computer literate enough to actually do it) solved:

On the page when you type out a new thread simply have a tick box for if it IS or ISN'T footy related. That way if it IS it goes to a board specifically related to footy AND the Big Board and if it ISN'T footy related it just goes to the Big Board.

That way you can have your NSC how you like it, with or without other threads!

If NSC starts getting divided up into football and non-football related sections, I am going to have an almighty FLOUNCE.

I want to see football threads amongst pictures of mice with ears growing out of their backs. Is that really too much to ASK ?

I would definitely support a the main board being football related only... and another general chat board.

This might need a bit more active moderating to keep the junk off the football board, but I think it would be worth it.

I am tired of wading through stuff about peoples girl/boyfriends, jobs, petty squabbles, pornish tendancies etc...

I accept your point, but you don't have to read these threads. It does not take too much effort to wade through the dross.

To paraphrase another LEGENDARY poster, there is only so many threads you can make in a day about Jake Robinson's finishing and FDM's new haircut.

NSC is mainly self regulating, on a big news day, it is nearly all football, but in the quiet periods it goes tangential, and I for one think it is part of the beauty of the board. I would hate it if NSC became the equivalent of the Palace BBS, which takes life far too seriously.

Don't split it.

At the end of the day you don't have to read about Kev's latest job interview if you don't want to.

Yes there's loads of drivel on here and some of it can be a little boring at times, but IMO most of the time it's a really good board full of intersting drivel !

Today at work I learnt that the Swastika was a good luck sign, read entirley different advise relating to a house sale after a break up, read what Chappers would have as his last ever meal and learnt what the best pubs in Lewes are.

No wonder I do no work all day.

Great summary of NSC, 11-10-06.

Ps - I also enjoyed the 'dogs in clothes' stuff and Franks Wild Years account of his DIY disaster

You're all lucky fuckers anyway. NSC has now been BLOCKED where I work, so I can no longer read or post on here during working hours. Which means I'm more BORED during the day than I ever thought possible.

I'd KILL to have access to NSC again during the day.

Great! Let's all talk about Easy behind his back. I've always thought he was a bit of a jerk, what do you reckon ? :lolol:

On a football-related note:

A farmer wants to know how many sheep he has in his field. So he tells his sheepdog to go out and count them.

The sheepdog nods and runs off. He circles the flock a few times then returns to the farmer.

"So, how many were there?" asks the farmer.

"40," says the dog.

"40?" says the farmer. "How can that be? I only bought 38."

"I know," says the dog. "I rounded them up."

OK, so I lied about the football-related part...

Spot on El Pres, as usual. The threads that are 'Off Topic' tend to brighten things up especially when things are not so hot at club level. I would personally welcome more fans from other clubs (even Watford O if he could learn to control himself).

I tell you something, if NSC was split, there's zero chance of a football forum being the "main board".

This sounds like a solution to the problem?

How would I mark a thread entitled "Paul McShane: Is he more ginger than ever before?"

I thought he had a great game last night. Or was it just that he was more noticeable because of his very ginger hair?
