This is a work in progress so bare with me but:

PC Components, Desktop PCs, Laptops, LCD TVs & Computer Hardware

THat there is a fantastically cheap site that, if you know how to install an operating system you already have, can give you a very good, cheap computer!

i'm getting the iFlame delievered on the 29th. 320 quid without an OS which comes with an i3 processor (dual core) at 3.06Ghz, 4gb of ram, 500gb hard drive and space for a graphics card (which i'm getting, the Nvidia GeForce GT430 for 50 quid). Six USB slots mean You don't really ahve to worry about running out of space. 1Gb (gigabit, not byte :lolol:) ethernet.

f***ing bargian.

I'll let you know how their delievery service is when i get my rig delievered.

USB 2.0

I wouldn't either but there are some people who would :lolol: that and that is DOUBLE what I have on my netbook

I'm more excited about the i3 dual core, the potential (yet useless) 16bg of ram I could get and the graphics card!

7 usb ports on a desktop is not uncommon but unheard of on a laptop.

I was literally listing everything I knew i had coming :lolol: for some people the number of USB ports is important. As it happens its not important to me

Might as well do this: I was texted by Novatech with a tracking code that parcle force cannot track
Might have something to do with the fact its not in their hands yet, its only been dispatched from Portsmouth (i think) so i'm waiting till parcel force open up for business next.

It takes a while for things to show up on tracking. It's fun waiting for stuff like that to get delivered, got a gx740 laptop from overclockers a few months ago- runs everything on high settings innit, whoop.

:lolol:

I've got this quite nice set up going, but a 14" CRT Monitor

Cannot wait to run GTA4 (regardless of how bad the PC version is...) and FIFA11 and FM11 and Civ 4/Tropico 3 :clap2:

I've been playing the hell out of Mass Effect 1 & 2, a bit of FM11 (find it so frustrating) and Fallout 3. There's a steam sale during the holidays, with different games massively reduced everyday- worth a look!

I'm still managing really well with my Commodore 64 - which has a floppy disk drive and everythang - but I was thinking of upgrading in the next few years.

This certainly looks like a useful site.

Novatech are sound, I've been using them from the days of catalogue shopping through til now and have no complaints. Generally been issue free but any problems with delivery, parts being DOA etc they've always sorted it.

I was looking, and they seem to be an unpatronising site. Not only do they offer everything that some one who wasn't a computer "person" an easy option, everything is there in some format so if you know what you want/are doing you can get a system and know what it can and can't do. not like Currys/PC World where its dumbed down.

i have used Novatech a lot both for a PC and for external drives etc. They are cheap and reliable ,....they deliver when they say. The one time I had a problem ...they sorted it without a problem arranging a prompt collection of the pc for repair.

I can vouch for Novatech who have supplied most of my computer gear over the years.

So far so good, i'm not sure about Parcel Force though... their tracking system is shit!

Below are details on the location of your package:

And then its blank :lolol:

Everone here seems pretty big on Novatech and providing this goes smooth I think i've found my new computer parts and systems shop.

Novatech are superb.

Bulit my PC last summer, saving a fortune. If you have an issue with anything, you can go on a live chat thingy with one of their techies and they sort it out brilliantly.

That looks like an interesting feature to say the least! Luckily i'm pretty apt at using a computer but i'll bookmark it when i set up the computer and on this laptop too, because you never know!

I've used Novatech in the past, but not had great experiences with them, plus they are not nearly the cheapest site in general, but that's another story.

An Intel Core i3 is a rebadged (budget) dual-core Intel Celeron aimed at the "value", i.e. cheap end of the market for system builders on a tight budget.

Seeing as there are Intel Core i3, i5 & i7 available, you would expect the Core i3 to be worse technically than the i5 or i7 wouldn't you...and it is.

I'm sure the new system will be fine for purpose, but please don't expect any fireworks.
