Why do we have to have this every single Summer? Are people's memories really that short?

Have a look at NSC in June / July every year for the past ten years, you'll see exactly the same threads. Start panicking on the 18th August if we haven't signed anyone else by then, until then, chill the f*** out and enjoy the close season.

We have Signed TWO players with Champions League experience and there is a thread stressing about lack of signings. Unbelievable.

I think if everyone could just hold their palm out and raise it to their forehead creating a slapping type noise...that should answer your 'worry'. Maybe even add a 'doh' in there for good measure?

Just saying like!

Yea right!

Recommend any English translations of Polish novels ?

You can try these for a start:

The Promised Land by Władysław Reymont

Ziemia Obiecana (The Promised Land), possibly Reymont's best-known novel, is a social panorama of the city of Łódź during the industrial revolution, full of dramatic detail, presented as an arena of the struggle for survival. In the novel, the city destroys those who accept the rules of the "rat race", as well as those who do not. The moral gangrene affects equally the three main characters, a German, a Jew, and a Pole. This dark vision of cynicism, illustrating the bestial qualities of men and the law of the jungle, where ethics, noble ideas and holy feelings turn against those who believe in them, are, as the author intended, at the same time a denunciation of industrialisation and urbanisation.

Witold Gombrowicz's Ferdydurke

In this bitterly funny novel by the renowned Polish author Witold Gombrowicz, a writer finds himself tossed into a chaotic world of schoolboys by a diabolical professor who wishes to reduce him to childshness. Originally published in Poland in 1937, "Ferdydurke" became an instant literary sensation and catapulted its young author to fame. Deemed scandalous and subversive by Nazis, Stalinists, and the Polish Communist regime in turn, the novel was officially banned in Poland for decades. It has nonetheless remained one of the most influential works of twentieth century European literature. "Ferdydurke" is translated here directly from the Polish for the first time, allowing English speakers to experience fully the masterpiece of a writer whom Milan Kundera describes as "one of the great novelists of our century".

and The Career of Nicodemus Dyzma by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz.

Granted we have Kucsczak and Saltor but I would have expected a couple more by now.

Is it just the case that the right players are not available or has Tony tightened the purse strings?

Don't worry. Every year we get panickers. You are no different to a dozen or so other NSCers.

Contacts only ended a couple of days ago. I have no doubt we will sign some new players.

The poster has a point in that any new signings are going to need time to adjust to our system. This passing game will work better if time is spent practicing and understanding your team-mates qualities. Pre-season should ideally be all about having the team in place as early as possible and working hard on tactics and movement.

Surely passing should come naturally (or after years of practice)? Players (or at least the ones we target) don't learn how to pass overnight under the guidance of Gus. It's really not that complicated, even for the vast majority of challeneged footballers.
