should only be one team from each country anyway

What a great competition that would be. Seeing Rangers / or celtic getting thrashed in the last 8 to leave the Champions of England, Spain, Germany and Italy every year in the last 4.

The old European cup was ropey and any competition that replaces Inter Milan with a bunch of post men from Romania would be equally as shite.

considering how 'amazing' the premier league has been in these past years, you'd think premier league teams would've won the champions league more than TWICE since the turn of the century (or three times if you want to lump in united's 99 win)

plus, i mean, come on, liverpool in 2005....djimi traore? a champions league winner? really?

All the while Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool are successful global brands, England will get 4 spots in the champions league. With Man City establishing itself, it won't matter if one of them drops out.

The money from sponsors and TV companies will be greatly reduced if uefa let such brand names go missing from the tournament, and that's what's important.
