So we don't get a new player? So what?!?! We have an immense squad as it is. Yes it would be nice to have a specialist left-sided midfielder, but not every team is perfect! I'd rather stick with the same squad we have, give Jamie Smith some more game time on the left maybe, and then perhaps bring someone in in January which is only two months away ffs, if it doesn't work out with Smith or one of the others missing from Tuesday's match (Bridcutt, Sparrow), or if we have an injury, then yes, we might feel aggrieved at not having a new player in after that window, but as far as I can tell, we are going to be a bloody good team even without a new signing.

That being said, it isn't 5 yet

Gus didn't say we WOULD get him though, he said there's one they're working on and if they get him it will be special, or something like that. Which implied that there's a good chance it won't happen, and it looks like it hasn't, it's not a surprise. He can't help it if some of our supporters don't actually read what he says, just one word and then take it out of context.

It is possible still if a club is prepared to tear up a players contract thus making him a free agent but I dont hold out a lot of hope for that.

Very dis-appointing news that the Special signing is not going to happen,Gus seemed confident of strengthening the squad and it now looks as if cash is not available, in fact we cannot afford not to spend for the right player because if results do go down then attendances will suffer, costing the club a large amount of money.
