Is that a picture of the invisible man ?

This is the part time actor they use when quoting ken "the ghost" brown. Don't fall for it, he doesn't exist at all; if we had an md of marketing etc then the club surely would be better run. Call the clubs bluff and write to him. And see if you get a reply. Or even acknowledged.

most clubs below the championship (and many higher) are unable to enter into contract talks until the season is over and they know where they will be playing next year and many clubs have to let the great majority of players go at the end of the season rather than pay 2 months wages over the summer when there is no income. Most often a good proportion come back for pre-season. It's the way of the (economic) world and if we weren't spoiled by the stupidity that is the premiership we would accept it more readily as being the price the players pay for inflated contracts.

Nothing personal, Ken - just... couldn't resist.

Sorry.

He's taking the auditioning for Richard Attenborough's role in the re-make of Brighton Rock a bit too literally.

"The manager will make a decision on the players whose contracts expire at the end of June when the time is right for the football club".

Just to clarify the point. Not no contracts until 30th June.

Just to clarify - that's NOT what it says.

Read it again;

"The manager will make a decision on the players, whose contracts expire at the end of June, when the time is right for the football club".

'okay ken we've got the photographer here so if you could just look a bit busy please' as ken reluctantly gathers the newspaper from his desk and pops his half eaten packet of crisps into his top draw

Why is this news its the way we have done business for a good few years and I imagine is the way most contracts are done at other clubs in the lower leagues.

He also states that "The club has not received a transfer request from any single player - and at this stage of the season we do not anticipate receiving one".

So what was all that guff about Fozzie handing in a transfer request? ???

not a surprise - given the financial state of football at the moment we could probably pick up a lot of players this summer on free transfers whose contracts have expired. It would be crazy to commit to the current squad (particularly those well paid) when better players may be out there and our league 1 status is not certain.

In that case the club are preparing for the possibility of league 2 football:shrug:Surely league 2 is where we need all our best players on contracts to get us straight back up?:p

Obviously the exception to the rule and probably a big factor in Forster's discontent.

Understandably, especially when you consider their relative merits as players; and their respective importance to the team. All very odd.

If Poyet knows he want to keep you then you'll be offered a contract, if not then you'd better start playing better.

And you must admit El-Abd has f***ed anything up for weeks.
