You're not allowed to say mad.....It's gone mentally challenged.

i hate 'retarded' the most. growing up in the Deacon Generation we are certainly not ones to point the finger when it comes to giggling about these terms, but retarted somehow seems really nasty and seems harsher on the ears as its an americanism.

Depends on the context surely?

There's plenty of retardation in a game of Rugby isn't there?

The Government.

The Church can't force you to do anything.

You have to live by the rules a Government puts in place, you don't have to give a damn about what a Church says.

Unless the church have a lot of influence over the government of course.

the context is calling someone a retard like a joey (not a baby kangaroo) or a spaz. how many contexts is the word retard currently used in, that it could be open to debate here?

So can your family by leaving you with Great Uncle Austin.

Statistically you're more likely to get bummed at home than anywhere else by a long way.

Given the massive cover up I would be very surprised if church bummings are included in any statistics.

And? All this political correctness drives me mad. I don't see people up in arms when Muslim women aren't allowed in mosques with men. Why is it that they can get away with it and a blind eye is turned but when it's the church there's outrage.

Errr ..... the thread is about a well reported news story hence why it's about the church. Indeed there are many other examples of discrimination in many other organisations and I could spend a week starting a thread about each one. PC has nothing to do with it, it's just an interesting discussion topic based on something currently in the news.
