Robot news for plastic fans? if there were no new threads by all means, but is this a glorified "fixtures" machine.

It will kill the fun and newshound will be getting Facepalmed galore

Oh great. Not only have we got to decide what are spoof accounts, second accounts, wind-up accounts, fishing accounts, etc, we've now got to work out what exactly is being written by humans and what is being automatically generated by the board itself.

The computers are taking over I tells ya.

I wonder if Bozza's going to switch on the new vBulletin 'auto response' feature. What that does is scans threads and works out what an individual user's response would be, based on their previous replies on the same subject. It then automatically makes a response on their behalf to save the user the bother of manually replying themselves.

An example of automated responses on say, politics.

If you look at some of the other club messageboards that are hosted on rivals or whatever then most of the threads there are the automated scraping ones. The best part of this forum (to me) is that it's not simply an RSS feed for Albion news.

If people want it then I suggest to keep a site like NewsNow (NewsNow: Brighton and Hove Albion News | Seagulls News | Every Source, Every Five Minutes, 24/7) in your bookmarks or something.

NSC is busy enough that it's never going to be just RSS links - they'll be very few and far between.
