The fact that arrests have already been made means HMRC must be onto something real.
That doesn't matter, by the end of his briefing we'll be told HMRC owe Newcastle £55m.I agree but we don't know any of the facts just yet, alternative or actual.
They had enough staff to send 50 people to West Ham.

Oh dear, start next season with -25
Are you being serious? Can you provide a lengthy list of the number of businesses that the under-staffed HMRC have exposed in the last year or, just to give a bit more leeway, the last decade? What punishments have materialised as a result of such exposures?
Both clubs have had some odd deals with Marseille, having bought from them and sold back to them. Maybe it has something to do with that and HMRC thought it looked shady and are just looking into it.
Seems a lot going on to just be looking into it? They've arrested Newcastle's MD!
Indeed... just wasn't sure if they have a fixed points deduction or if they're allowed to just make up a number.
From The Mirror, below. If correct, it doesn't sound like a footballing related matter that could lead to a footballing penalty being imposed:

I bet Harry's sweating like Eric Pickles in a pie shop.
The only link I potentially see in transfers between Newcastle Utd and West Ham would potentially be ''sell on clauses'' in the Andy Carroll Transfers. I can't off the top of my head think of any other players moving between those clubs directly or indirectly
