i am STILL hopeful that Murray could come back....

I really don't think he had the sort of season that his performance at the Amex suggested. I know a couple of Palace fans who both talk about Murray in a similar way to how we talk about CMS. They were delighted with the signing, were surprised to get him. Knew he'd scored plenty in league One, and were expecting to see him to the same in the Championship. Played well in some games, looks like a pretty good player, but tbh, hasn't been the player tehy were hoping he'd be.

The fact that his best game came against us, is very similar to why Leeds were so interested in CMS after his performance in that 3-3 draw.

The perfect signings would be a striker and another quality box to box midfielder,if crofts gets injured we'll have problems.

Agree with that although the signs are that Gus is looking to develop Calde as cover?

More worried that we have no-one to cover Bridcutt - Dicker isn't really suited to dropping back as he wants to make creative passes and the extra second of thinking tiome on the ball risks giving it away. Don't think we have anyone who can play one touch-turn-find space-one touch-turn-find space...... in the way that Bridders does. I guess you could push Bruno forward but not sure he has the discipline to stay in front of the back four.

I think we will sign one (striker) and get two in (striker and midfield) as loans subject to Spaz and Vincelot leaving and Hosky on loan once he is back fit.

Perfect summary. Murray showed with us how good he can be but his inability to apply himself consistently will be frustrating everywhere he plays.
I'm still convinced that it was the motivation of a new contract that enabled us to get the most out of him in our promotion year

I think Jordan Rhodes will be with us come Friday 11pm. Not based upon anything. Probably a mile off just like prediction of a 0-0 draw against Barnsley. What do it I know, Im just a fan.

Having seen him play at Crawley I would say Courtney Richards is the long term answer but in the short term I think it could possibly be Calde or even Dunk in the back four with El Abd just in front of therm.

100% 1 striker, 95% another striker, 1 midfielder if 1 goes out, 80% 1 defender. No names just know that is what we are working to.

Don't rule out Yaser Kasim either in the longer term (if he can develop his anger management skills!). He has good technical ability.
Short term is the issue though and Calde - like Bruno - possibly doesn't have the positional discipline. I think holding position is much harder than many give credit for.
AeA in front of the defence might be asking to give away rather too many free kicks in dangerous positions
Could be wrong but we rely on the Bridcutt role to break up, clean up, and move forward. It really is crucial to the way we play and I would be much more comfortable if we had an expert to cover. For now I think I would use Crofts there if we needed to but that creates the same problem we had last season unless we get another progressive central midfielder or can develop Calde as effective cover for Crofts (it's where Calde played as a sub at Swindon and I believe it is where he featured for the DS tyesterday)?

Because of the enormous contribution that he makes towards the way we play I cannot see Bridcutt going unless it is for a fee that we cannot afford to refuse and an adequate replacement has been arranged. Our problem rests with a 1 game suspension or short term injury to him.
