we've got the new mondeo, 2.5 V6 Zetec S Estate, black, 18" alloys, looks the nuts, goes and handles bloody well, tows my race car, its massive inside and has been 100% reliable, cheapish to run and you should get a 2002 one for £10k

or you could alternatively have 1/2 of a MK1 Cortina race car, spacious inside, massive boot, but 10 MPG, 4" ground clearance, and only 1 seat might not be too practical for everyday use :lolol:

I have an Audi A4.
I tidy piece of ass, I would highly reccommend one, although at £10k you may struggle to get one that has a reasonably low mileage.
IMHO the A3 is a tad too small for a family car.

What ever you do don't get a peugeot, they start to seriously fall apart after 3 years!

wherever the money is
moggy is selling his Lotus Esprit and you would get change out of £10k for it.

Seriously.. forget the suburu WRX. Get a Lexus IS200 sport.

I had one for nearly 2 hours and thought it drove better than a BMW 318. It has a 6 speed gear box, Low depreciation, high reliability, great stereo, heated seats, traction. A reverse beep.. bascially the lot and more.

In silver looks great.
