Alan Navarro returns to training with the Brighton first-team squad on Friday after six months out through injury. The midfielder has been on the sidelines since rupturing a cruciate ligament in August but has been pencilled in for a reserve outing next week and could yet play a part in the Seagulls' promotion run-in.

"Alan has been training with the development squad and will start training with us on Friday," said manager Gus Poyet.

"His training has been going well and he needs to start playing 11-a-side games to get to the next stage in his fitness.

"We want to start easing him into games and we have been looking at our Sussex Senior Cup game but we are not sure what the surface is going to be like, so we will wait and see."

Great to have him back, with Kish, Sparrow, Dicker and Bridcutt in the middle too we've got plenty of players to cope with our run to the FA Cup final

Not just good news, GREAT news. If he comes back anywhere near the standard he was when got injured, we'll have a fully rested player coming into the side, hungry to prove he deserves another contract. Fingers crossed for him.

Also good news that we don't have to rush him back as have a plethora or options in CM
