So much personnal view and preference.

But geographically speaking, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are known colectively as Great Britain (= British) and Great Britain is part of Europe (politically too at the moment).

So, if you are English, you are also British and European
If you are Scotish, Welsh or Northern Irish, you are also British and European but definately not English.

Northern Ireland is not in Great Britian, and it never has been. It is in the United Kingdom, and its residents have the choice of Irish or British citizenship, due to its lack of status, not due to "being British".

Look at the front of your own passport, you'll see it says "United Kingdom of Great Britian and Nothern Ireland".

There's no such thing as an English national. Legally, we're British nationals.

Our passports are UK passports. United Kingdom is not a country but a Kingdom as the name suggests. It is not a passport that shows your nationality but shows you a citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain (England,Scotland,Wales) and Northern Ireland. Your passport is a UK passport but your nationality is English if you are from England and Scottish if from Scotland etc.......
You are an EU citizen but the EU is not a Country.
Look at your Driving licence, it has your nationality within the UK printed on it next to your date of birth.
