Surprised that no-one has so far mentioned the Unofficial Mayor of Brighton....TERRY GAROGHAN :guitar:

He was the very first person that came to mind when I saw this thread...and is a worthy addition to this role of honour! punk:punk:

Loved his annual show at The Dome- especially the 'Guess whereabouts in Brighton this is? PowerPoint. Last year was the final one and it completely sold out. Sure he will return somewhere.

Being a fellow meninblack I was interested to see you put Dave Greenfield up first. My cousin told me she went to school with Dave in Mile Oak so I have always assumed him to be a Mile Oaker - however my cousin is a dozy old sod and she may have it completely wrong.

Over the years I have tried to find out a bit about Daves background but I can only find info from his early music days (gigging around Forces camps in Germany etc). Got any good info on his birthplace - school etc ?

Cheers.

PS - Leo Sayer is a mussel like me - he was born in Shoreham at Southlands where his dad was a caretaker living in a cottage in the hospital grounds.

He's always been the most reserved member of the Stranglers, can't help you with his birthplace for sure

I know he used to visit a house in Seaford circa 78

An old mate of mine, that actually got me into the Stranglers had family there and DG visited from time to time

Didn't think much of it at the time

Remember being very envious of him,as he had DG's autograph on RN,NMH & B&W

Seann Walsh. Didn't know that until I saw him last night.

He used to work in a pub up the top of Ditchling Rise, forget the name. Was always working when we used to go in there of a Friday about 5 years ago. MAy have been mentioned but didn't GAry Moore used to live here? Used to see him in Virgin Megastore all the time, likewise Gaz Coombes. Nick Cave also.

Simon Callow lives around here somewhere too as does Matt "Superhands" King.

I'm pretty sure Dave Greenfield went to Varndean Boys School in the 1960s

Oh do forgive me, I forgot to do my revision on minor characters from T.V sitcoms of the last 5 years. The Gary Moore I was referring to is the musician who died in Feb 2011 so I'm not sure what good he thinks training will do him. Jeeeez!!
