I'm off to Donington on Wednesday. First went in 1982! Last did Glastonbury in 1986, when it was still good.

Used to go to Donnington when it was a one day 'Monsters of Rock' but since it changed into a mult-day festival I just can be arsed (hate camping, like home comforts, too old, etc, etc)

Glastonbury is nowhere near as commercialised and plastic as V Festival or Reading.

For a small-scale Glastonbury without the commercialism, Bestival on the Isle of Wight is great (plus the ferry ride makes you think its abroad which is a bonus)

V Festival had the Hellman's Mayonnaise dance tent a few years back.

How many Glastonbury festivals have you been to?

Come on, it is. Havnt you seen the huge banners promoting Oxfam, Wateraid and Greenpeace?

I did as well. f***ing ace it was. It must have been the mid-80s when I went. I remember seeing ZZ Top headline one year, Ozzy the next. I think I also saw Maiden headline.

Hey all,

Now that Glastonbury has become an over commercialised money making machine piece of crap what's the best music festival experience in the UK? The music isn't my biggest concern, it's more about the people and the atmosphere. Any suggestions?

I recently went to the one day Beer and Jazz festival in Greenwich and had an awesome time. Highly recommended.
