Seaford is one of the places on my list of possibles when we downsize next yer. I really like the place and you get a bit more for your money than you do in eastbourne.

Really? More for your money than Eastbourne. When I moved back down south a few years ago that was quite the opposite.

I moved to seaford from Brighton 5 years ago, although quite I come to love it,
Great place to raise the kids , nice flat beach, good for bike rides and walks
Good schools but like most places the odd weirdo and trouble estate
Best thing is direct train to Falmer

Moved to Seaford seven years ago and most of what I've seen on here is true: great value for money property-wise, decent enough transport links, very little crime or antisocial behaviour, great countryside, and a smattering of independent shops.

As for the "Daily Mail hell hole" comment, that's nowhere near my experience of the place. In fact I'd say there's a good community atmosphere, a lot of decent people who don't define themselves by piercings/tattoos, don't have inflated ideas of their own importance and who help each other out and share a relaxed outlook on life.

Overall a very pleasant little town, albeit one that lacks some of the cultural and municipal assets of, say, Lewes.

im curious what the requirements for pre-retirement are that came up with Rye and Seaford. cant think much in common other than sleepy and sussex, im sure alot of other places would fit that.

True. I live in Roselands which though a good area, is cheaper than Old Town or similar areas in Seaford.

I lived in Seaford for 3 years and now do lots of work in Seaford, lovely place to live and nice people.
Lots of Albion fans in Seaford.
