Agreed.
Bullocks presence in any half decent film is akin to spotting a dead vole in a cheesecake. You know you'd have probably quite enjoyed it, if it wasn't there.

It remains possible THE greatest film mystery:

How on earth did Bullock get so many gigs?

Heathers, Young Guns 2, True Romance - all outstanding works of art.

I rewatched Robin Hood:pOT recently and was surprised how ****ing awful it was.

Admittedly he's been having a bit of a rough spell since 1993.

I saw Heathers again a few months ago vaguely remembering it was good...it hasn't aged well. Young Guns 2 is passable but far from outstanding.
I think True Romance is the only "Bullock/Speed" exception, but then that's mainly down to the Hopper / Walken exchange.

I think to appreciate just how horrific a Christian Slater film is, you need to sit down in front of Alone in the Dark. You don't so much watch it, you just sit there in slack-jawed marvel at how terrible and unintentionally hilarious it is. Tara Reid plays alongside him as an archaeologist and museum curator. I'll say that again - Tara Reid. As as an archaeologist and museum curator.

Harsh - I liked Murder by Numbers and The Proposal.

I've not seen Murder by Numbers.

But The Proposal was exactly the kind of formulaic Bullock romcom dirge I've come to expect. Predictable fluffy I-hate-you-oh-no-I-don't-I-love-you-now pap which she so specialises in. Co-star Ryan Reynolds does at least have one redeeming factor, in that he hurled what is still the greatest insult ever committed to celluloid: "that tickle that you're feeling in the back of your throat right now? That's atomized colloidal silver. It's being pumped through the building's air conditioning system, you CJTC" (that's not in The Proposal though. Obviously).

On the subject of Sandra Bullock I DID like 'Blindside', but that was partly because I'm an American football fan.

And what was that one she was in with that bloke from Rambo and the English guy who used to be in 'Yes Minister'? It had that black guy in it. No the other black guy. No the other other black guy. (I'm shit with names). It was some sort of futuristic cop thing.

I quite liked that as a bit of mindless comedic escapism when I thought it was going to be rubbish. (Yeah, I know, wrong thread).

I can't answer that but she looked seriously hot in Demolition Man.

Maybe the 2 are connected.

How bizarre I was naming the film at the same time you asked the question.

2001 a space odyssey. Probably because I didn't have a clue what was going on in the last half hour or so.

Scarface. Remember looking forward to this but it just reminded me of a bad Mexican soap opera. Terribly produced, awful soundtrack, piss poor acting (except Pacino, he is good in it), crap sets, shit dialogue, predictable from scene. I gave that shit the finger.

The Coast
The Deer Hunter

I've TRIED to like this film, I've given it every chance. But that opening wedding scene seems to drag on for about six days, and the rest of it - except for the Russian Roulette - is just so MEH.

With me it was "Apocalypse Now". Total waste of time hearing Brando mumbling.
