What's happened to the Albion database, can't get on it. I sometimes need it to jog this old memory of mine
Still, I've only been to Carlisle twice and seen two fine wins. The hard fought 2-1 win on a cold winter's day was good but not as good as my 1st trip.
I believe it was the opening day of the season, Chris Cattlin was manager & the sun was shining. Engineering works meant that we had to leave Brighton station at 5.00am to travel to london via Littlehampton.
To get us in the mood, there were a few bottles of home made wine, the tea wine being a favourite, and it was a strange feeling arriving at Victoria at 7.00am already drunk.
Trains from london to carlisle were pretty fast and we were up there before midday for some more drinks ina pub called The Albion. And the Albion cruised to a 3-0 win in some style. can't remember who scored but probably the likes of Connor & Wilson.
Great day!
