Lynch was my clear MOTM, he didn't put a foot wrong. Composed on the ball, won every header, used the ball well, and he was literally BOSSING the back line, barking orders to El Abd and Kerry.

Sorry, wrong.

Lynch did have an oustanding game, but he did not "win every header". There were three of four situations in the second half where he failed to win headers.

Just so we have the facts straight.

Sponsors can vote for whomsoever they like as MoM. They're there to give the club an injection of much-needed Western currency, not to impress NSC with their in-depth knowledge of the game. I mean, DOH! :dunce:

Exactly. I'm amazed they didn't choose the sole goal scorer like they normally do.

Definately i really dont see how they come up with Carpenter, he was ok, i thought Lynch was clear winner and would have meant a lot more to him as well, also other ones who would have accepted would have been Robinson and Henderson, very strange decision to give carpenter man of the match.

Perhaps I was sitting there reading Deirdries Photo Casebook at the time then. But I can't think of any occasion where Lynch was beaten in the air, certainly nothing that led to any chances for the opposition. He was immaculate.

Revell just nicked it over Lynch for me. Last season he was playing non-league in Essex and last night he was looking very impressive against two defenders who had just returned from the World Cup!

I thought Reid first half, Lynch second half, as people have said though is very difficult to name one which can only be a good thing. Having several nominations is so much better then trying to think of just one.

Henderson or Stokes for me as MOTM but Chippy did play reasonably well, particularly in the second half. I was pleased to see him get it given some of the OTT stick he's had.

Agree with that. Was not over impressed with Lynch in the 1st half but was superb 2nd half. Jake should have sealed the game in the 2nd half but hit it straight at the keeper. I don't think El Abd was far off either.

That would not f***ing surprise me at all. If you push the idea enough people might begin to believe it.

It is very rare that the MOM goes to the players who performs best in most of the supporters eyes and is now just there to be laughed at by the fans as they leave.
