I've been wondering for a bit now exactly how Micky Adams team will look in the opening game. With the team as it stands, what do u think his starting 11 will be.

I go for Kuipers

Whing Virgo (c) Elphick Lynch

Cox Thomson Mcleod

Fraser (ouch)

Forster Murray

Why would Fraser be playing in front of the midfield? If anywhere he should be behind them

Irrelevant, as there ARE more signings to come.

A fair point but i doubt there will be a lot more activity. Pre season has already started and he'll want as much time with his palyers as possible.

I think a central mid and left back at max....

That came out wrong. What i meant was that Thomson more holding and Fraser a little more attacking, not playing off the strikers...

Quite possibly, but then , those are the two positions where your proposed team
is clearly lacking, so its just as well.

Ok Hans fair enough.

To be honest the question I was wondering the most was who will be the two central defenders.

I think Elphick and Virgo. Lynch, Hawkins, El-Abd also could though.

Adams always played with two tough tacklers in midfield and two wingers. He also doesn't like to play people out of position. So if we don't get any new players (which we will) I think he'll go with:

Kuipers
Whing, Elphick, Virgo, Lynch
Cox, Fraser, Thomson, McLeod
Forster, Murray

He'll sign a left back and a central midfielder though. I wouldn't be surprised if this was Fraser's breakthrough season though. Hopefully he's beefed up over the summer to get some presence... he's definitely got talent

Your assuming he chooses to play 4-4-2, not 5-3-2 like he did first time around, with the two full backs getting forward as often as possible (like Hart, Jonesy or Brooker did)

With the current squad,

Kuipers
Elphick, Virgo, Hawkins
Whing Lynch
Thomson, Cox, McLeod
Murray, Forster

Subs: El-Abd, Sullivan, Robinson, Fraser & Loft

(I would have liked to have El-Abd starting, maybe in place of one of the new signings?)
