Meteors Landing on the South Downs Tonight?!

They wont be landing, you see them burning up in the atmosphere, and its a worldwide thing. I work outdoors, and will be starting at 1-30am tonight, so if its not cloudy I will have half an eye on the sky.

I have seen the ISS dozens of times over the years, it is brighter these days cos new bits have been added on, making it bigger.

Providing the clouds stay away, it should be really good tonight because the new moon will make the sky darker than normal.

Certainly visable to the naked eye, straight overhead and onwards to the North eastern horizon. About one a minute at the moment, viewed over Central Worthing.

Popped down the beach yesterday. Some of them were really bright. Well worth the view.

Now I know why I have never been able to enjoy the 4th July fireworks. I have always forgotten to take my comfortable chairs, bug spray, food and drinks, blankets, plus my red-filtered flashlight for reading maps and charts without ruining my night vision.

Surely anyone taking blankets outside is likely to be mistaken for homeless?

I went out last night and saw bugger all. f***ing wankers on telly said there's be loads, and there weren't.

working outside all last night spreading the word to the gang to watch out for meteorites blah de blah and between 9 of us we managed to count ......erm none.

I saw two from my back garden at around ten thirty, only looked for ten minutes or so
