Brighton have extended Manchester United defender Paul McShane's loan for the rest of the season.
The 19-year-old has impressed manager Mark McGhee, who told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "He's fully committed to Brighton, even though he's on loan.
"He's a tremendous character and we want to keep him permanently."
McShane added: "My goal is to play for Manchester United's first team, but here I'm playing week in week out, and I relish every game."
McShane's initial six-month loan was due to expire after Albion's game with Millwall on New Year's Eve.
He has scored three goals in 22 league and cup appearances for the Seagulls
