Is he going to be fit for Saturday? If not I hope major efforts are being made to get a left back in on loan.

Also, what ever happened to possible loanee's from Arsenal?

1) I think he has a twisted ankle, so won't be fit.

2) EVERY summer we have the same Arsenal loan link, nothing ever comes of it.

Must admit every loan player that we have had has turned out to be a bit well shit, Zamora and Johnson excepted.

They tend to have a great first game, then turn out to be pony. Im CONVINCED thats down to the coaching. So Ernest is correct.

Assuming nobody comes in by Saturday, I'd have thought Whing will be switched to LB, with Tunnicliffe going in at RB (which would have been INFINATELY preferable to El Abd playing LB on Tuesday, which was fairly inexplicable).

surely if we dont get someone in we HAVE to play 3 centre backs with no full backs. Whing had a bit of a mare on Tuesday, but El Abd's ineptness meant it went unnoticed

3 centre backs of Elphick, Tunnicliffe and Virgo must be solid enough, though Virgo was so bad on Tuesday

Jimmy, Jimmy, oh Jimmy Mack, when are you coming back?
Jimmy, Jimmy, oh Jimmy Mack, when are you coming back?
My arms are missing you, my lips feel the same way too
I tried so hard to be true, like I promised I'd do
But this boy keeps coming around, he's trying to wear my resistance down

[Chorus:]
Hey Jimmy, Jimmy, oh Jimmy Mack, when are you coming back
Jimmy, Jimmy, oh Jimmy Mack, when are you coming back
He calls me on the phone, about three times a day
Now my heart's just listening to what he has to say
But this loneliness that I have within keeps reaching out to be his friend

[Chorus]

Need your loving, need your loving

[Instrumental break]

I wanna say, I'm not getting any stronger, I can't hold out very much longer
Trying hard to be true, but Jimmy, he talks just as sweet as you

[Chorus]

Need your loving, need your loving
Need your loving, need your loving...
(Jimmy, Jimmy, oh Jimmy Mack, when are you coming back)

Hows that work then ? ???

not sure, but something FLAIR like

---------------Smith------------------

-------Virgo Tunnicliffe Elphick---------

------------Crofts Dicker------------

Wright---------Thornhill----------- Cox

----------Dickinson Forster------------

remember we are playing stockport who have sold their best players, lost their remaining best player to a broken leg and are not allowed to buy anyone and can barely put a squad together

Three at the back like that would leave us hugely exposed down the wing. The most successful wing backs are attacking full backs.

I would personally go with:

GK Smith

LB Livermore
RB Whing
CB Virgo
CB Elphick

RM Wright
LW Cox
CM Dicker
CM Thornhill

F Dickinson
F Murray / Forster

To be fair it's GOT to be better than El-Abd! I'd probably go Tunnicliffe at RB and Whing at LB mind

I agree. After Tuesday I don't think El-Abd should be anywhere near the team, and as for Livermore at LB, that is just madness.

whing has been poor for 2 seasons in my view - last year's POS award was won becuase he looked like he cared a bit not becuase he was good. el abd is park football standard at full back. virgs is okay at full back but no better. we have a problem and we've had a problem since start of pre-season. spending 150k on wright was a panic measure which has come back to hurt us. he's not even a full back anyway.

why can't we play young cook at right back? he can't be any worse than what we have already. would rather see our own lads get a go than some loanee come in and stroll around for a few matches

Agree about Whing - vastly overrated.
