MARK McGHEE has agreed to become the new Hearts manager after Vladimir Romanov promised to quadruple his current Motherwell deal.

2 grand a week to manage the team who are 3rd in the SPL, thats a bit of an insult really. Even 8 grand a week seems like a low wage for a manager at the highest level in a particular country. I wonder how much Strachan and Smith are on?

I suppose by comparison to some football managers it's not outstanding, but I'm sure the rest of us could live fairly comfortably on an insult of £104,000 per year...
