Went up yesterday, was a really young side with lots of expereince missing. Kirtly kept us in it and him and Wright had some unlucky decisions go against them.

Goodwin is a legend and is up against a good bowling attack.

MH Yardy not out 69 176 101
MW Goodwin not out 115 150 18 1

I reckon you could have picked a starting 11 from that game to go to the World Cup that would have done a better job than the ones out there are doing.

C D Hopkinson c O A Shah b S J Harmison 8 23 2 0

According to sussex ccc message board

Mike Yardy has broken his index finger and will be out for 4-6 weeks

Got hit by Harrmison, will be a big loss to start of the season, was bowling really well in the friendlys and his knock at Lords showed was in form.

Latest showing that Marylebone Cricket Club lead by 172 runs with 7 wickets remaining.

Shame as this was a good workout for team looking, however looking forward to the real stuff starting on Wednesday.

I was there today. Yarders had to retire hurt on 99. Showed all the hallmarks of a broken finger.

I was impressed with the lusty batting and pretty decent bowling of Chris Liddle. But I think this one's gonna fade into a draw, unless we take six VERY quick wickets in the morning.

Mushy came on as twelfth man and got the biggest cheer of the day.

(For those who like to know these things: MCC 226/4 in their second innings, lead Sussex by 266 runs. OA Shah 87*, CJ Liddle 16-2-41-2)

MCC lead by 346 with about 50 overs play available, I know this is only a glorified friendly but you'd have expecteded them to declare before lunch, shirley?

yes I would have expected them to declare by now... especially with Lord Moores at the helm and Harmy/The Hogster in the ranks...
