Well Canterbury is the seat of the Church of England I believe, and a rallying point for the Crusades against the muslims in the Middle Ages. Considering Spanish trains were bombed in revenge for something that occurred in that era, I think that this location might be significant.

The Church of England, which was founded after the Crusades.

Trains were bombed in madrid on the eve of general elections to create backlash against the PP party (right wing in power at time) and it worked, left wing psoe party voted in days later, a surprise at the time. From a north african political perspective was to do with spanish territories in north africa i think. I was living in madrid at the time. They caught the bombers a while later and they blew themselves and the police up inside the block of flats yhey were hiding in, was terrible

Several hundred years after.

But why let that spoil a fun, if completely misguided story!
