Not sure what kind of panoramic views of Sussex you'd get 'from a height of 60 metres'.

Wouldn't they be better putting it between the Palace Pier and the Marina, rather than have it practically next door to the i360 (assuming it ever gets built)?

Makes little sense IMHO

Oh, and bandstand was up and open at the weekend BTW

Why not just go to a high point on the Downs, sure you can get a far more panoramic view from up there...Weald, town and sea!

Indeed. The views of Sussex from the grandstands of Goodwood Racecourse or Brighton Racecourse are pretty much unbeatable - with the added attraction of drinking and gambling on tap. A view for the COGNOSCENTI

Not a chance in hell of that getting permission.

The do-nothing, build-nothing Tories have lost their majority remember. It might have a chance now.

I can remember the views from Chantry Hill and Springhead above Storrington being pretty stunning, as they are from Chanctonbury Ring above Steyning...from all three you can see the sea, the coastal strip and the Weald.

Another place with great views is Boxhill near Dorking, looking south over one of the most beautiful parts of England, you can even see planes coming in and out of Gatwick.

The Brighton O isn't a permanent structure , it can be moved to a different location.
