So your experience of London (or at least living there) is pretty much limited to one area. I dont know when you lived there but certainly Clapham and Battersea have improved a lot and are quite good now.

I dont think living in one area qualifies you to say that London is a dump.

Days out and sight seeing is great. So to is clubbing. But at the end of the day you can't beat going back home in the countryside and waking up to birds and nice smells.City life just isn't me.Most of London is a shithole to look at unless you come from the west.Since i've done alot of courier work i get to see most of the se,sw and bits of west and my views won't change. Can't really comment on the north but i've been told by many people it's an even bigger shithole. It really is just a concrete smog and there's no getting away with that.

I suppose it depends on priorities. I certainly agree that the ccountryside has its advantages, but I am happy to put up with pollution and the cost of living for the excelllent clubs, boozer, restaurants and shops the city has.

As I said earlier, there are a lot of shitholes here, that's certainly true but there are also a lot of nice places (even if its ridiculously expensive to live in those areas).

The North...where do you start?? :lolol:

I dont actually mind commuting. I love my job, you get to meet lots of different people and we are paid well for what we do.

Luckily there are a few of us who sit together on the train ( annoying the f*** out of some people..LOL) but we also socialise at the Albion and also we have evenings out as a group. Makes the journey go quickly.

The only issue I have is the time constraints.....leaving home at 7 o/clock and getting back in at 7 in the evening, which of course means its a 12 hour day!!!

Got to agree with DtG, love my job, don't really mind the commute, tend to travel up and down with the same people (annoying lots of people (including Hove Born and Bred)) and enjoy a beer or two on the way back in the evening. It is completely tolerable if you make the travel time pleasant. :drink:

Yeah - you rowdy bunch - I'll never forget when you tried to "accidently" trip me up as I was marching through the carriages... ;)
