Lighting for film - any experts?

Just need to ask some advice if there is anybody on here who knows about lighting films.

A pub scene. Natural light may be to dim but unsure how to manipulate film lights to add extra light but still appear dim.

For an interior, with a camcorder, ideally you want something like Strand Quartet Fresnels, they are soft edged lights, 650 watts each - probably get away with a minimum of four (unless you need to cover several areas, corridors etc... at the same time).

You would need a simple dimmer, something like a Zero88 Alphapack2, 3 channels, 5 amps each, max 13amps across the three channels would probably do the trick.

And a couple of lighting stands to get some of the light up high - and possibly reflectors for some flattering up-lighting.

The camera will be static on one area of the pub, a close up. Also I am on a bit of a budget so trying to do it on the cheap and hire as little equipment as possible.
