Not if most of the others are draws. If we won 15 and lost 14 we would be better off. Poyet himself said after another inept display at Blackburn he'd sooner see us win one lose one. To me that meant he was going to become more attack minded. That didn't happen Saturday.

We drew because we couldn't score, mostly because of our crap strikers. We now have a new shiny striker and all will be OK again soon

Not if the manager decides he has to do all on his own. What's the point of seeing your forward with the ball by the corner flag and no one in the middle. It happens too often. Our strikers aren't crap they're expected to do much of the donkey work whilst sitting on the bench are the pacey wide men. Poyet has stated he wanted a target man to supplement CMS. Had the chance last Saturday didn't do it until the second half, too little too late.

So after one half of not playing the two together it's too little too late? Get a grip man, maybe he was waiting for the first home game to experiment.

Why playing two forwards together should be an experiment I'll never know hardly revolutionary is it?

"The wheels started coming off"?!?!?! What f***ing world are some people living in? We are BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION. Not BARCELONA.

This.

Was there a really good deal on LOBOTOMIES in the January sales that I missed out on?

God this place is full of impatient fools. Imagine if they were Derby fans - they'd be slitting their wrists or burning the directors out.

How have the wheels come off? We are still in contention and we are trying for a top 6 position.

Imagine it's 2010 and I say the following to you.

2011 - promoted
2012 - consolidate position in championship
2013 - aim for top 6 finish

We'll have a management set up not afraid to spend some money but not go stupid, and we'll show faith in our manager and establish an attractive football style.

All reads quite well. Makes sense.

But nope, some people think that a couple of million spent entitles promotion and failure should result in us sacking the boss. Oh and we don't want an experienced CEO at the club either. Doh!

In a pile of football shirts
For crying out loud some of the hand wringing on here since Saturday has been ridiculous.

WE LOST A GAME OF FOOTBALL!! Those of us who have been following the club for a few years realise this can happen occasionally.

12 in a row a few years back, imagine this place if that happened now!

The wheel's are coming off?? We've only lost two games in nine, we're 8th in the league with a game in hand! We're playing great football (most of the time) and have a great chance of the playoffs!

The wheel's aren't coming off, they just need a slap of WD40 (Ulloa?) and we'll be back on track.

Average results without THE player Gus has been after for the last season and a half. With Barnesy out for 3 games hopefully we will see cms and Spanish Len together sooner rather than later followed by goals and wins :)

at home
The day we lost at home to Birmingham.
We started the season predictably with one point from Hull and Cardiff. Then, just like last season, we had a very nice run of fixtures against sides still finding their feet and struggling. We cashed in with 15 points and that has cushioned us ever since. We have played three of these sides in reverse fixtures and taken one point.
Since beating Millwall we have played ( in the league ) 22 games and taken 26 points. Won 5 Drawn 11 lost 6. A pretty ordinary record and very similar to last season. It seems we can catch sides early in the season before they have settled, bank a few points, then the opposition wise-up and the wins dry up. Last season, it was a nine-game winless streak and this season it was seven. We seem to rally a bit
in November before the wheels come off in December ( Last season 4 straight defeats, this season 5 winless games )
It is a remarkably similar pattern and perhaps it means that either our strategy is too inflexible and we are found out too easily or, at the moment, we are simply not good enough. Are we getting by through individual excellence rather than cohesive teamwork and strategy?
Unless we finish the season strongly, fans are going to point to the same pattern replicated over the last two seasons and thus, no progress.

I think this sort of post epitomises nsc at the moment.

unbelievable
