Do you really know the details of either case well enough to make anything other than this trite comment? Shame that you can't see that intolerance towards immigrants is as fuckwitted as the homophobic attitutes you rightly decry on other threads.

Oh for fucks sake Irish, can you not let the lad have his say without you sticking in your condescending, smart-arse reposte all the bloody time?

As far as I'm concerned it's got bugger all to do with the Ferring guy's nationality and everything to do with fact that he was driving without a license or insurance. He may well have been drunk but we'll never know as he didn't get caught until several days after the incident.

Despite the facile remarks of Ernest the majority of posts on here are not meant to be racist but merely statements of fact. However you to try and detract from the man's actions he was very lucky to get a mere nine months.

Come on, if a mate of yours turned up pissed, out of the blue and wanted to stay for a couple of days, i think you might have asked a few questions....

As this mate was the front seat passenger in the Hughes's car i doubt it was much of a surprise.

This isn't the worst crime in the world; drink driving is something a lot (unfortunately) of people do. Hughes was unlucky to have hit someone while driving. It was a tragic, unfortunate and unecessary waste of life.

Nothing can bring back the loss of life but had Hughes had a little more common sense and respect afterwards he could have got a lot lesser sentence. Still, he'll be out in 3 years and will be able to salvage his career.

As a role model to many, he could have not run away, admitted to it straight away, showed remorse and something good could probably have come out of the tragedy.

What a very sensible post.

I am impressed.

Riposte, Dancin Ninja. Repost is what you do all the time with your narrow opinions.
