I know its early but one online site has us down as 16/1 for the Title 7th favs, so just outside the Playoffs. Do we really deserve to be that short???

We were joint 5th with MK Dons but they've now shortened. Also Millwall have shortened after being 18/1.

I did post the original odds about a month ago and said they wouldn't last. 16/1 still seems generous considering some bookies (Ladbrokes 9/1) so I think they'll probably shorten to 12's soon.

Hartlepool look a good bet, must be worth a £5 each way.

Yes I am more than surprised we are so short. We haven't signed one player yet - and I think the squad proved itself to be much more capable of self-destruction than promotion challenging.

Do the bookies know something we don't? Having worked with bookmaker in the passed it is my understanding that they do glean information about clubs form sources so as not to get caught out. IE - If we were at 40/1 and then suddenly sign a load of quality players they could lose alot of money? Just a thought.

I think that's very generous on us

I assume he means that a generous estimate of our chances, not a generous value bet.

I can only assume we are this short because the bookies are assuming anyone who puts up £80 million for our new stadium is likely to spend at least a few million on building a team who can fill it.

Since we really don't know what our squad for next season is right now, I think it's a huge gamble to put any money on us to do anything at the moment.

Ladbrokes have us 5th favourites for the title, something wrong there! Anyone know the best place to go for a bet for us to get promotion, got sky bet @ 5/1 which ain't exactly good

Should have taken the 12/1 they were offering when it first opened!

The only place you will find better odds is on Betfair I reckon.

I did us @ 22/1 to win the league and 15/2 to get promoted last season, which was after a seventh place finish the season before...

Bookies are rarely wrong, so the odds quoted here must be with some knowledge!?

The Slade/Bloom Effect?
