What an absolute prune. It is probably one of the pesky students. From recollection there was one who was in either Manchester or Sheffield who was going to lobby his SU to launch a demonstration. There would be much better places to post something like that - Chesterfield Rivals.net?!

No, we shouldn't respond on the Chesterfield site. We also should not bombard that email account with spam to waste their time sifting through it all. We also shouldn't ask the techies on here to write something to continually bombard the account so that it is always full and can't accept any new mails..... ;)

That message from Falmer Parish Council is almost THREE YEARS old. It was posted on their website shortly after Prescott announced the second Public Inquiry.

Someone is just causing trouble by posting rubbish on the Chesterfield Rivals forum.

Falmer Parish Council have long since given up asking people to write to the Secretary of State.

LB beat me to it, I thought it looked familiar.

Just cut and pasted from the Parish Council Site.

Note the message suggests visits to "their website", without actually giving a link.

Just someone having a laugh.

Other posts have posted by the same user on the board - completely unrelated.

So relax...

Apart from anything else what relevance does a petition against our stadium have if it's signed by people from Derbyshire??

It is one thing to say you are in support of a proposed community stadium as it benefits you as a prospective away fan, whereas to say you are against it despite it having no effect on your life other than smug satisfaction that a rival club may be forced to go out of business is something else entirely.

When hordes of us added support to the plight of Wrexham, it was easily justifiable even beyond the obvious "we've been there ourselves and know what it's like" card because as football supporters who have visited their stadium on occasion over the years we have every right to condemn those who wish to get rid of it, because we ourselves then potentially miss out on a trip to Wales if it is lost (whether or not that appeals to you is neither here nor there, it's an opportunity we are no longer being afforded).

Quite right. There must be many a rival fan who used to look at a trip to Brighton as a chance of a good day/weekend out.

Now they look at an expencive seat, exposed to the weather, where you can barely see the game. no wonder visitoe numbers are falling. For most the Withdean experience is a one off and that's money lost to the club and the city.
