Something else the ref got wrong -

Regardless of whether it was a penalty he awarded it against Leon. That means that the next action should have been a freekick by Stoke. The GK took the freekick from the correct postion but the Linesman flagged.

After the ref had spoken to the lino the GK was told to take a Goal Kick.

Now that means that either :

Freekick taken and Leon booked for diving

or

Goal kick taken and therefore no offence has been committed. In this case Leon can not be booked for diving and so wouldn't be banned.

The ref effectively over ruled his own free kick decision and gave a goal kick. The club should appeal over the yellow card ( although I bet they can't ).
