Kitten on Big Brother

Just got this email from my mate who was a sabatical at Hull Uni when I was there. I thought I recognised Kitten...

"'kitten' is indeed Kat Pinder, ex-Hull Uni student and Union 'Activist'. As much as I believe that Big Bro contestants act-up in the house, or are at least encouraged to or made to appear to via shameless editing (according to Spencer from BB2, Alex the pretty boy told him to go and f*** himself in the final week, was that shown? Oh God no!) Anyway... 'Kitten'...

1) Kitten was formerly Katherine Pinder. She then became just Kat pinder. Then, last year some time, she changed her name by depole to Kat Kat. Honest.

2) She ran for a Sabbatical position the same year as me. Actually, she missed the application deadline by a day. Rather than meekly accept her ignorance or go to an appeals committee (where absolutely everyone gets let off. Honestly, it's democracy gone mad. I'll stop) she decided to storm into the administrators office, swear profusely at him and threaten him physically.

3) She was allowed to run but decided to 'act against the system' (the 'system' being Hull Uni Union, deluded bint) by not campaigning, claiming it was just a popularity contest. (Which it is, but I don't care, because I won).

4) She had a girlfriend who looked like a cross between Ram-Jam from He-Man and a tool box.

5) She led an LGB Pride march thingy through Hull and was interviewed on TV. Although she claimed that they had raised awareness in the area and gained great support, most on-lookers were armed with eggs and other projectiles.

6) I think, I'm really not sure but I recall something, about her being in trouble with her department, although that's hardly surprising."

She seems to be deluded in thinking that anyone gives a shit about her opinions or boring rebelions.

Infact the ironic thing is that big brother contestants are just tv puppets and she has not realised this.

Exactly GG. I dont watch it as I think its shit and from what I have heard about the contestants so far I cant think of a group of people that would annoy me more.

I read somewhere that she only just missed getting a first. So she must have managed to do something halfway productive at Hull. Or perhaps her spelling was just better than the average undergrad up there?

Not sure what degree she did Roz, you can do Yorkshire Studies at out uni so just missing out on a first does not mean too much. Also, has anyone on here ever thought that just perhaps I pay a bit more attention to my spelling in my work then I do on an internet message board?

Chill, Richie! I'm sure your work is quite another matter altogether and actually, I was rather taken by your friend's spelling on this particular occasion. So wondered whether there was something in the water up there that results in a particularly Hullish effect on the language.

PS. I'm also fascinated by the idea of a degree in "Yorkshire Studies" and what the curriculum involves:

"Yorkshire, best fookin' place in t'world OR English county composed entirely of braggarts and Geoffrey Boycott impersonators? - Discuss (on one side of postage stamp)".

Apparently there are modules in 'Compo', 'Clegg' and 'Foggy'.

:lolol:

*gets coat and shuffles off (with a whippet)*

I have only seen 30 seconds' worth so far while I was making some toast but it seemed absolutely classic TV.

Kitten: I'm not going down the socialist route, you know, getting everyone in the house working together.... I'm going for, like, a more anarchist approach.

Blonde bint doing the washing up: Yerrrrrrr...... anarchy is really good I fink.

:D

Where's the classroom for Yorkshire Studies? Is it down the Corridor of Uncertainty?

Hull may suffer from the stigma of doing Yorkshire Studies (which Ive been told is studying the tourism, history, geography and socio and economic conditions of the county) but at least we dont do 'David Beckham Studies' or offer 'Klingon' as a foreign languae like some pollytechnics do.

You can't do a degree in David Beckham studies anywhere. This was a story largely made up.

A guy called Prof Ellis Cashmore -- a rentagob academic at Staffordshire University -- made David Beckham a dissertation option in a degree in popular culture. It's not like you can do a BA in it.

Mind you, I went to a former polytechnic (spelled with one L) so what am I likely to know?
