My TV and sound system might be worth a bit, but the computers are probably not worth ten grand, as I don't keep the hardware in great nick. The laptop I'm typing on has one screen hinge left (of the three it used to...)

Nip down B&Q. You can get hinges dirt cheap down there. Replace the three hinges with one shed door hinge.
