Listening to a debate on Radio 4 earlier in the week apparently 900 million people in the world are malnutritioned. Yet 50% of all food produced in the world goes to waste. Only 1% of this food would be needed to give the 900 million a sustainable, healthy diet. Redistribution of this food bank is necessary to help the third world but sadly it seems beyond us. And of course population/birth control is a factor that needs to be addressed relating to this. I don't think spending millions on fireworks is the real issue.
