That's really a bit of political correctness in truth. The fact is that people are building on reclaimed swamp land and thus encroaching on the Alligators' natural habitats. The same thing is happening in Australia where they have more than their fair share of very venomous snakes but the argument, which is not without some foundation, is that humans should NOT be there in the first place.
