Warnock always said he wanted to reach 1500 games in management before retiring. He was 12 games short. Getting to the play off final this season will still be 1499.
Checking the table it is strange seeing Hull, Borough, Huddersfield, Stoke & Wigan fighting it out at the bottom. Not big teams but teams that were in the Prem but crashed after relegation. Just goes to show where we could end up if relegated.

I think Middlesbrough are in fact a very well run club, and Steve Gibson has a good record of standing by his managers. Many others would have sacked Woodgate long ago.

He could have been justifiably sacked at any point this season, pretty much, but the club never created an infrastructure whereby he seemed to have the necessary support to improve and ultimately succeed, not helped by replacing Championship players with League One players at the end of last season, all of whom have failed.

They said they'd make good investments but their transfer policy seems to have been all over the place. Having Keane as assistant, who would be dangerously inexperienced even if he didn't appear to spend most of his time on Instagram, seemed a somewhat unwise move as well - they'd have ideally tried to appoint someone like Warnock or even Allardyce as assistant or DoF.

Always respected Boro fans because of the distance they travel in great numbers to games, and their 'zine, which is excellent. And their accents, to be honest.

Keane doesn't have a brain - it is beyond me how anybody would give him a job. He got the Ireland assistant job as a PR exercise and McCarthy didn't give a sh*t because he got to bring Terry O'Connor - As soon as Stephen Kenny took over he wanted Keane out the door. The daft morons running the FAI gave McCarthy a 2 year contract - but they gave Keane a 4 year deal and had to pay €400K to get rid of him.
