Brucie had a long stint on BBC as well.

Perhaps you only needed to make the 10 o'clock news to get on this program.

You forget Ricky's stint on the "11 o'clock show" or whatever it was called on Channel 4 and then his own chat show, also on Channel 4?

Both Independent TV, if not on ITV as such.

I agree 50% with this comment.

Ricky Gervais is not funny.....FACT.

John Cleese is extremely funny.....FACT

The way he played a castle guard with a stupid French accent in Monty Python and the Holy Grail was absolutely hilarious.

And for those who are old enough to remember the radio show "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again" with Radio Prune. It's a gem. I suggest the younger generation find a copy from somewhere and listen to it.

I was initially only questioning why so many BBC stars were on a programme celebrating ITV. No whether any were funny.

Eric Sykes ?

it may be because of the lack of comedians associated with ITV. Come on how many truly legendary comedians or did their best work for ITV?
