The sentence for the offence of Murder at common law is life imprisonment. there is no other sentence possible.

Have I missed something ? I know he is a murdering scum, but a perv ? was she sexually assaulted as well?

Yep, you did miss it:
- made advances on her (his own admission) without any enticement. Rejection led to snuffing a life out.
- her top and bra pulled up when found. One of his many defences was that they'd accidently been pulled up when dumping her over a wall. Of course.
- his computer showed searches of sexual violence against women.

Is that pervy enough for you?

Well i'm clearly in the minority - I don't believe he went out with the intention of murdering Jo Yates. Nor do I believe he's a pervert.

That was what I put before I read the Article. He's a pervert because he got off to porn showing women getting strangled and being tied up.

Deserved more years in prison.

The issue I have with the conviction is that in the British Criminal law system, matters have to be proved beyond reasonable doubt. If two jurors could NOT decide that he was guilty, how can it possibly be beyond reasonable doubt?

i did jury service a couple of years ago and the judge emphasized that there was no such thing as resonable doubt, he said you had to be sure that the defendant was guilty and if not sure then find not guilty.

Yep.
It wasn't about whether it could be proved that he set out to murder, but that he intended to permanenty silence her during the strangulation/suffocation.

The jury unanomously, and the Police, believed he did.

And after, the other pervy and calculated stuff about him was revealed, which the Jury didn't know about.

Thank christ the evil and selfish **** can't harm any one (other than himself) now.
Hopefully he'll be monitered, so that he lives through that sentence.
